alexandrapatrick future planning with the Hythe Coastal Community Team
alexandrapatrick project managed and delivered the Hythe Coastal Community Team Economic Plan in close partnership with Hythe Town Council to provide a framework for future community projects for the local area. The plan was submitted to the Department for Communities and Local Government for consideration and review on 31 March.
Hythe is a small, old coastal community town on the edge of the Romney Marsh in the district of Shepway. It benefits from having an existing upmarket tourism offer with an ancient church and the Royal Military Canal; a diverse landscape and safe beach and walkway, coupled with close proximity to continental Europe.
The economic plan focused around five key themes, Connectivity, Identity, Tourism, Community and Partnering. This was based on existing economic data and on commissioned qualitative market research to support these key themes.
The Hythe Coastal Community Team will be responsible for monitoring and prioritising future projects. Support from partner organisations will also be required for each project. In addition, funding streams have been identified along with potential partner organisations that can help deliver the relevant elements of the overall plan over the next 20 years.
