BBC Lonely Planet picks up alexandrapatrick imagery
The Lonely Planet series is now essential reading for anyone who really wants to be in the know.
They recently turned to alexandrapatrick for a selection of shellfish imagery to support a feature on Rye.
Duncan Callow, alexandrapatrick’s premier food photographer has an impressive stock of fish and seafood images, the majority of which have been shot locally in Hythe, Rye and Hastings.
A big supporter of local fish businesses (such as Griggs of Hythe and Webbe’s restaurants) he’s also spent time capturing the essence of Rye Bay Scallop Week.
So when BBC Worldwide, publisher of the Lonely Planet series went looking for some strong scallop imagery to support a feature in an upcoming guide, the search didn’t last long. Many of Duncan’s delicious food photos are available to view on flickr — which is where the editor of Lonely Planet found them.
Duncan commented: “It’s obviously flattering for alexandrapatrick imagery to be featured in such a prestigious guide. But the quality of fish and seafood that’s right on our doorstep is fully deserving of such a feature. I’m right behind our local fishermen.”
